Retail Rage
Its just the beginning. Words have never brought such disappointment. It is the start of spring which to most people means happiness, picnics, watermelon, and great weather. But, if your an employee at IFA Country Stores, spring time means, hell. Sure, I know, when I have kids I will probably bring them into the store to see the cute little baby chicks and rabbits BUT I will not leave them unattended to strangle to poor little things. I will not look into the tank with 600 chickens running around and say, "I want that one rightttt there!" Because I know the instant you reach down into the tank to grab it, it will be lost among the other 600 birds. I will not insist that I hold fifty different chickens to feel their aura. I will not make the employee gather up 15 chickens then decide I dont have the money for them. I will not let my children scream and scream and scream about wanting a chicken and give in, to only have it die on the drive home because my two year old squashed it. I will not buy chickens and call the next day telling them I would like to return them because they walk funny, there is NO RETURN on animals!! ohh and this is just the beginning of spring. This is our first batch of chickens and we will receive new batches every other wednesday till easter. OMG. This rage is just beginning people. Dont forget the million +1 phone calls we get daily asking "When do you get chickens, what are all the dates you get them, What breeds are you getting, How do you raise chickens exactly, Can you hold chickens for me?(my favorite answer, nope they will poop on me but thanks.)" But little do you all know that chickens are the least of the worry here at IFA, its the plethora of RUDE CUSTOMERS. Yes, deliberately rude just because they think they can. This is when I wish I was more like my co-worker and friend Shae. She is great at putting people in their place! :) In one day I had one lady from SLC that asked what was wrong with me? She wanted a list of when to put down her fertilizer, when I proceeded to tell her that it says it on the bag Spring Fertilizer or Fall Fertilizer she cut me off saying how SLC is soo much better and they have list and why do they have a list and I dont have a list, when I tried to tell her that I am to busy with Rude customers to make a list, and I personally find it dumb when it says it on the bag she cut me off again needing a list of what kind I had and their prices, FINALLY I got to say something, I got to say that prices change and what we have available and on hand changes to rapidly we cant keep up with list, the WHOLE time shaking her head in disappointment in me. Needless to say " We didnt make friends" that day with her, in her own words. OMG really?! Then like two hours later this little old short man came in asking what fertilizers we had, when I tried to ask if he wanted lawn or garden he cut me off saying dont you know what you have, "yes, but is it for lawn or garden" "I need to know what the numbers are on the bags" 'OKAY SIR, but do you want lawn or..."(boss walks up and customer instantly cuts me off to ask him " I need fertilizer" Boss man repeats me and asks lawn or garden, not listening to any of us he is SO annoyed that we are not helping him, and yells at us for our poor customer service and if no one is going to tell him what fertilizer he needs he will never be back here to shop. needless to say we let him walk out, we dont NEED customers like that. Okay, moral of the story I dont like baby chicks in my store or the people or phone calls they bring with them. I dont like rabbits because they make the store smell and for some odd reason, I am the only one who ever feeds or waters any of the animals. I hate all the dumb questions about lawn/garden care, I hate when people ask questions but wont let me answer them. I really hate when people dont think I can help them because I am a girl, what do they really think my boss pays me for? I HATE spring time at IFA. The end.

Working in the Office
A few weeks ago, we got new carpet in our office area. (its about darn time!) Shae and I thought while everything was already packed outta the offices we should paint them! (great plan...) So we take it upon ourselves to find the right color of paint, get supplies and off we go. We had to first wipe down all the walls because its been 10 + years sense they have been cleaned or painted. (Farm store here, we arent the cleanest of the bunch) There was some border wall paper that came down no problem got all the tape up and laid down all the plastic. This "project" of ours with our two different schedules took us a week. Bryce (our boss) was just about ready to string us up by our toes for kicking him out of his office that long! ha Well we got the job done after alot of hard work and put the office back together so everyone was happy. It looks pretty good too I must say!
It is pretty sad when all I have to post about is work....
